I've always had a love for arts though I have always been a Science student. And since I love both, I can never look at one as better than the other. Ever since I was in primary school, I have been brought up to think and analize things scientifically. Maybe it's my family, or maybe it's just Malaysia's education system. We've always been brought up to think that Science people are considered more intelligent, and those in the arts stream are the ones that have less aptitude for the so called "better way of thinking" of which is Science. As if non-Science is non-sense.
Now that I'm older and (hopefully) more mature in my thinking, I realize that I don't agree with that notion. I honestly think that intelligence comes from how we apply our knowledge to make our lives better, if not the society.
The businessmen of the world who make tonnes of money may not have degrees in Medicine but don't tell me that they're stupid?
People will continue to think what they want to think, I believe.
But I just feel that whether you're an Engineer or a Doctor or even a businessman, or a school-dropout-turned-computer-genius, it all depends on what you do with what you've learnt.
Face it, not all of us (even me), apply ( or even remember) half the things that we learnt during Biology/Chemistry/Physics class. So are we still considered the better side of the coin?
