This week is Architecture week here in Australia (or is it just Brisbane? Not too sure). Part of the archiweek is the Brisbane Open House (BOH) which took place on the 11-12 October (last weekend). If I'm not mistaken, there were 58 buildings open for show around Brisbane which included religious buildings, heritage buildings, architects' studios (my personal favourite category) and residential buildings.
So I set out on Saturday with a friend to explore some of the buildings. Since there were so many, and we traveled on foot, and the places were spread out, we decided to enter random buildings that were on show.
St. Stephen's Cathedral.
There was a wedding going on at the time.
The bride was really hot haha.
The Australia Post
This was at the alleyway beside the post office.
I just thought the place looks cooler in b&w
The Green Door
I love the colour of this door. Took some photos of just the door.
(no, this was not on show, we just found it)
Gotta take some pics with the door :D
Bureau^Proberts Studio
It was actually located within a heritage building but the interior was pretty modern.
I didn't take that many photos here
I kind of forgot =.="
Museum of Brisbane
I took these photos during my volunteering shift on Sunday.
I think the design of the walls was inspired by fish scales because Brisbane was named after the river which was a means of sustaining their life at the time. In a way, it still is I guess.

Brisbane City Hall

There were so many other buildings I never got to visit. I'm hoping that those buildings will be open some time again or many during next year's BOH.
